
Wednesday February 12, 2015, at the invitation of NAPTIP, WOTCLEF Executive Director, Imaobong Ladipo Sanusi, was one of the Facilitators for a one-day capacity building training on the National Referral Mechanism (NRM) and Referral Pathways for support to Victims of Trafficking and Violence Against Persons.
The training which held at the NAPTIP Resource Centre, Federal Secretariat, Abuja, was initiated by Az-Zawaj Women & Children Intervention Centre (AWIC) in collaboration with the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) with support from the Network Against Child Trafficking, Abuse and Labour (NACTAL).
The one-day training focused on Policy Guidelines and Minimum Standards for Service Providers Rendering Assistance to Victims of Human Trafficking and Violence Against Persons.
Present at the training were NAPTIP Directors, Officers and representatives of NACTAL member organizations.
Other topics covered were Victimology , Overview of the National Policy on Protection and Assistance of Victims of Trafficking in Nigeria and minimum standards, Trauma Informed Care for victims and vicarious trauma, resilience for caregivers and service providers.
Participants expressed their appreciation for the impactful training programme as well as their commitment towards improving their service delivery to Victims of Human Trafficking and Violence Against Persons.
