NACTAL Nigeria President, Abdulganiyu Abubakar in company of the Network’s National Secretary, North Central, Kwara and Niger State Cordinators paid advocacy visits to the Kogi State Commissioner for Women Affairs, Hajia Fatimah Momoh and His Royal Highness David Agbayi, Etsu Adankolo of Adankolo community, Lokoja, one of the largest District Heads in the State.
The current realities and trends of human trafficking, child labour, abuse, sexual and gender-based violence necessitated the interactive dialogue which held with the Women Affairs’s Arrow Head, the Directors and staff in her office.
The Honourable Commissioner enumerated efforts made by her ministry to address recurrent issues of human trafficking and rights violations in State. Issues of interest raised included : More Advocacy visits, intensive awareness, trainings , activation of available safe space for Victims. Others were: Use of available policies in the best interests of victims and all, synergies with Law Enforcement Agencies especially NAPTIP, lobby NAPTIP to open office in Kogi State, partnership with NAPTIP, NACTAL, International Partners.
In the same spirit, the District Head was delighted to receive the team and assured of a continuous support on NACTAL’s thematic areas.
Earlier on , WOTCLEF Executive Director Imaobong Ladipo Sanusi, who also doubles as the NACTAL Nigeria North Central Zonal Cordinator, had administered the oath of office to the newly sworn-in interim executives thus -Rachael Akande: Cordinator Titus Alonge : Assistant Cordinator Bar.
