International day against Child Labour

WOTCLEF in conjunction with the L.E.A Primary school Gwagwa's WOTCLEF Anti-Trafficking Bridgade (WAB) carried out a rally around the market to mark The International Day Against Child Labour. The children participated by displaying various messages to stop all activities that mentally, socially, physically and psychologically set them back from developing and growing.

Inline with the Vision of its founder for a more caring and safe society in Nigeria and in Africa, WOTCLEF's Focus areas of concern are: Trafficking in Persons (TIP) also reffered to as Human Trafficking, Child Labour and Abuse, Protection of the right of women, children and youth, Reproductive Health/HIV/AIDS

How WOTCLEF Works

Since its inception, the foundation has effectively been at the forefront of efforts to combat human trafficking and Child labour in Nigeria. It has developed and applied a range of approaches to address these Scourges.

WOTCLEF knows that the best way to curb incidences of human trafficking and child labour is to appeal to the conscience of the peopleand raise their consciouseness to the evils inherent in the scourges. Because WOTCLEF beleives in the adage that says "Prevention is better than cure". It carries out public enlightment and sensitization campaign against trafficking in persons, child labour/abuse and the spread of HIV/AIDS.

IOM donates items under the EU/ECOWAS Funded Project

IOM donates items under the EU/ECOWAS Funded Project to support NACTAL Shelters in the six Geopolitical Zones Items : A sewing machine, a television set and hanger, a DVD, a desk top computer, a hair dryer, flash lights, a bag of rice, a bag of semovita, 2 kegs of groundnut oil and bevearages. Distribution of Palliatives Materials

Widows and Vulnerable Women in Gwarinpa Village, Bmuko and Dutse Sagbayi have submitted that keeping up Safety Measures remain key during the COVID-19 Pandemic. This assertion was made at WOTCLEF where the distribution of Palliatives to the Most Affected Populace was carried out. WOTCLEF carried out the activity in conjunction with the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs and was sponsored by Dr. Aisha Muhammadu Buhari, First Lady of Nigeria and Founder of Future Assured Programme. The Women while appreciating the gesture stressed "these will go a long way on the family table". Items distributed included Nose Masks, Sanitizers, Rice, Sugar, Sorghum, Milk, Tomato Puree and Groundnut oil.

WOTCLEF empowers Trafficked Persons

The Bronze medalist of the Taekwondo +800 category at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, Gold Medalist at the 2007 All African Game and Founder of the Chika Chukwumerije Sports Foundation (CCSF), Chika Chukwumerije trains children in the WOTCLEF shelter on Taekwondo skills for self defense.

WOTCLEF collaborates with a number of government misitries, agencies and development partners such as: NAPTIP, Nigeria Immigration, Nigeria Police, NYSC, UNICEF, UNODC, Ministry of Labour & Productivity, IOM, ILO, PACT Nigeria, WINROCK International e.t.c
WOTCLEF & UNITED NATIONS:

In July 2003, the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) granted WOTCLEF a special Consultative Status. This distinguished status gives WOTCLEF the rare opportunity to maintain regular presence at UN Meetings and conferences that are relevants to WOTCLEF's programmes and activities as well as to implement effectively and fruitfully the provisions of the consultative relationship.
